The Agricultural Development and marketing Corporation (ADMARC) is expected to start procuring maize from local farmers, using funds borrowed from Ecobank.

This comes amid concerns that farmers are being ripped off in the sale of their produce to parallel traders due to delays by ADMARC to procure the maize.

Commenting on the development, Dowa East Parliamentarian Richard Chimwendo Banda has asked government to consider acting with urgency when dealing with affairs to do with rural farmers.

Over the past years farmers have been facing a lot of challenges when it comes to procure their maize to ADMARC.
