Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that police in Lilongwe have arrested Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Vice Chairperson Gift Trapence.
Before his arrest armed Police officers raided his house in Lilongwe while he was in the meeting in the city.
The motive behind the arrest is not known.
