The High Court in Blantyre has granted an injunction to FDH bank Chief Executive Officer Thom Mpinganjira, against leaders of Human Rights Defenders Coalition Timothy Mtambo and Gift Trapence, restraining them from publishing or mentioning the name of the bank in any of the coalition’s undertakings aimed at forcing MEC chairperson Jane Ansah to resign from office.

Mpinganjira and his Bank which is a second applicant in the matter, also accuse HRDC of publishing defamatory statements, alleging that the bank financed rigging operations by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the May 21 elections.
