The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has arrested well-known musician Nepman, real name Napier Longwe for being found in possession of unauthorised weapon.
Nepman was arrested on Wednesday in the capital Lilongwe.
Central Region Police deputy spokesperson, Patrick Kasauka confirmed of the arrest in an interview with one of the local daily papers (Nation Publication Limited).
According to Kasauka, the 35-year-old musician used the weapon, an air pistol, in a music video he was shooting.
“The Police then followed up to find out if he is authorised to have the weapon in his possession,” said Kasauka.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
