DPP cadets beating up protesters at Chichiri Upper Stadium

Suspected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets are roughing up people who are gathering at Chichiri Upper Stadium to march despite Blantyre City Council forbidding the demos.
The DPP cadets assaulted some girls in full view of armed police officers gathered at the venue.
Meanwhile the Malawi Defence Force has deployed soldiers who have since assured the demonstrators that no one is going to be beaten.
Currently, all police officers have withdrawn from the Chichiri Upper Stadium.
