High Court grants HRDC permission to hold peaceful demonstrations in Blantyre

The High Court in Blantyre has granted the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) an injunction, allowing them to proceed with demonstrations in Blantyre today.

This is after Blantyre City Council refused to allow HRDC to hold the demostrations on grounds that Civil Society Organisation did not pay for damages.

Southern Region Coordinator for HRDC Masauko Thawe confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Thawe said the march will start anytime soon.
