Former Member of parliament for Balaka North Constituency Lucius Banda claims to be receiving death threats from suspected Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets over the ongoing anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations.
Banda who is also United Transformation Movement (UTM) Campaign Director confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook.
According to Banda, the suspects are threatening to attack him for being in the forefront in organizing anti-Ansah demonstrations in the eastern district of Balaka.
“Never threaten me with arrest am used. Don’t threaten me with death my lord Jesus conquered it 2000 years ago. Don’t talk about burning my house when you have your own. Remember l don’t turn the other cheek…mxiiieeee…,” reads in part Banda’s post.
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and UTM are against the outcome of the May 21 tripartite election which saw President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika being declared winner.
The two parties have since dragged MEC to court seeking nullification of the Presidential results.
