Angry Protesters in Mzuzu have torched down a house belonging to Ras Chikomeni during the anti-Ansah demonstrations that were organized by Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) on Thursday.
Ras Chikomeni was one of the people who campaigned for presidency but he was disqualified by Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) over reasons that he did not meet some of the Electoral body’s requirements to compete.
Following that, Chikomeni announced that he is bonding with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), perhaps his house was targeted as it is known that the demonstrations are against the ruling DDP and also to force MEC chairperson, Jane Ansah to resign.
Among other building they have razed down in Mzuzu include Chiputula police unit, Mzuzu Agriculture offices, Mzuzu city council health offices, DPP regional offices and Grace Obama’s House in Mchengautuwa.
