A Malawian Immigration officer has been found dead in a room at a rest house in Karonga.
The deceased has been identified as Jack Kateta who was one of the senior immigration officers at Likoma and Songwe Boarder.
According to reports, the deceased and his friends had been drinking the night before the day he was discovered dead.
It is said while drinking, his friends noticed something unusual hence they booked a room for him to rest as they thought he was heavily drunk.
In the morning, his friends noted that he was not coming out of the room and after checking in, they were surprised to have seen him unconscious.
He was then taken to hospital and according to reports at this stage, his body has already been buried in his home village in Neno.
In a related incident, a pregnant woman has been discovered in a decomposed state by passerby people with her eyes removed.
The incident has happened in Liwonde near Siku Transport buildings.
Police have since launched an investigation over the matter.
