The leadership of Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has said is confident that the Anti-Ansah demonstrations will go on as planned tomorrow despite opposition from the government.

HRDC chairperson Timothy Mtambo made the remarks during a press briefing on Sunday in Lilongwe.

Mtambo’s remarks came in following the move taken by the Attorney General who applied to court to stop then protests, citing what is termed as sub-judice.

Meanwhile, the hearing on the application is expected to take place this morning in Lilongwe.

HRDC has been organizing series of demonstrations in the country with an aim of forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson JAne Ansah to resign.
