Youth and Society (YAS) has hinted on its plans of training newly elected youth Members of Parliament (MPs) on youth manifesto just a week after training youth councillors on the same in Lilongwe.
Executive Director for YAS, Charles Kajoloweka said this initiative will help MPs to fully understand how best they can use the manifesto to develop youths in the country.
“We believe that economic empowerment of young people must not just be rhetoric, but it must be put into policy position and translated into actions that is why we are planning to orient decision makers in order for them to advocate for youth manifesto and make it as a reference point in terms of youth programming,” Kajoloweka said.
He further highlighted that he is hoping that championing councilors on youth manifesto, who are considered as youth ambassadors will empower youths at district level.
