The Constitutional Court has ordered that translations in the ongoing Elections case will continue quashing the application by the first petitioner Dr. Saulos Chilima of United Transformation Movement (UTM) Presidents to have the Chichewa translation scraped off.
In the morning lawyer for Chilima, Marshal Chilenga raised an objection concerning what he called poor standards of translation.
The lawyers also argued that the Chichewa translation is time consuming to some instances.
Delivering his ruling, Justice Dr. Redson Kapindu said says translation of the proceeding into Chichewa will proceed for the sake of voters.
On the capping of cross examination time for witnesses, the court shall engage the counsels to determine time they shall go for cross examination.
Meanwhile Chilima is being cross examined by Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale.
