Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President Muhammad Sidik Mia has accused the Democratic Progressive Party of being behind the torching of his offices in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Mia said this during a media briefing held on Friday at MCP headquarters in the capital Lilongwe where he highlighted a number of issues affecting the country.
The MCP Vice President said he suspect the DPP cadets are behind the torching of his office with an aim of scaring the party in pursuing justice in the ongoing Presidential case.
When asked on the extent of the damage, Mia said it is too early to determine the cost of the damage.
He added that he is not bothered with how much he has lost.
Unknown people petrol-bombed his office, formerly known as Cold Storage in the wee hours of Friday and the fire have consumed property worth millions.
Effort to talk to DPP Spokesperson Nicholas Dausi proved futile.
