The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has named three Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) officials of being behind the petrol-bombing of the house of the grouping’s chairperson Timothy Mtambo in the capital Lilongwe.

Unknown people invaded the house of Mtambo and petrol-bombed in house and the vehicle in the wee house of Thursday.

The development forced to convene an emergency media briefing in the capital Lilongwe this morning to comment on the saga.

One of the members MacDonald Sembereka said the Southern Region DPP governor Charles Mchacha, the party’s spokesperson Nicholas Dausi and Ben Phiri are sponsors of the attacks.

Sembereka said the three have been meeting at Mchacha’s house in area 15 in Lilongwe.

Meanwhile DPP spokesperson Nicholas Dausi has distanced himself and the party from the attack.
