The government of Malawi through Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development has revised the Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) maize buying price from K150 per kilogram to K180 per kilogram for all maize delivered to rural markets.

Minister of Agriculture, irrigation and Water Development Kondwani Nannkhumwa who also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South made the directive, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Nankhumwa also revealed that government has directed that if the maize is being delivered to ADMARC depots, the price be K200 per kilogram.

Government has also directed that the National Food Reserve Reserve Agency (NRFA) enters the market as soon as possible…And will be buying maize from all Malawians at a maximum price of K200 per kilogram
