Malawi revenue Authority (MRA) to stop Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) under the banner Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) from holding demonstrations in the Airports and boarders across the country.

Director of Corporrate Affairs at MRA Steven Kapoloma confirmed the development.

Kapoloma said the institution is worried that property worth huge sums of money is likely to be destroyed during the demonstrations.

The High Court in Blantyre is expected to hear the case on Thursday.

HRDC is planning to to hold Anti-Ansah vigils which will run up to five days sealing all the major airports and boaders in the country as a way of forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah to step down for failing to manage May 21 tripartite elections.

Ansah has remained adamant from stepping down saying she is waiting on the constitutional court which is handling the elections case.

On the other hand, HRDC has vowed not to relent until Ansah resigns.
