Kenya has been endorsed as the UN Security Council candidate with 37 votes against 13 in the second round of voting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

And Zambia’s ambassador to Ethiopia who is also Permanent Representative to the African Union, His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba attended the Permanent Representative Committee(PRC) Meeting.

He said after two rounds of voting, Kenya emerged the winner beating Djibouti with 37 votes against 13.

Kenya will now contest at the United Nations for a one-year non-permanent seat in elections slated for next year in June.
