At least 26 people have dragged Human Rights Defenders coalition (HRDC) to court over damages of their property during the Anti-Anti Ansah demonstrations that the coalition organized recently.
The people have said that their property amounting K545, 802, 450.00 was destroyed during the demonstrations.
In summons available to Faceofmalawi reporter, dated August 16 and 22, 2019 respectively indicates that HRDC has been sued fro failing to hold peaceful demonstrations as they have been promising each time when staging protests.
Those sued HRDC have said that their business and meechandise were damaged and looted by the demonstrators hence they need to be compensated.
When received similar criticism during the first series of demonstrations, HRDC pushed the blame to the police for failing to do their job.
