Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) veteran broadcaster Flora Nkusa Nkhoma has died after a long illness, faceofmalawi can reveal.
According to information at hand, Nkusa Nkhoma died this morning at St Gabriel hospital.
One of the family members Violet Nkusa Kalonga confirmed of the development in short message posted on her official facebook page.
“Rest in peace, my mother,my Aunt Flora Mkusankhoma the one who has made me a woman I am today.You showed me the light,you shall be remembered forever.I and my family shall talk of your love and care,” wrote Kalonga.
The death of Flora has taken the social media by storm with well-known journalists in the country expressing their sadness.
Aubrey Kusakala of Rainbow Television wrote: “Death where is your sting? The passing of Flora Nkusa – Nkhoma. She was the whole reason why I would tune in to MBC Radio one mainly during her night shifts…. The music she played, the comments she made, the research she made, the issues she discussed with her listeners, the respect she portrayed towards her listener during phone in programs, the passion & the zeal she had for radio! what a loss. She was one Fearless Talented female broadcaster who taught me how to manage my radio audience. I will forever be in your debt mama. Rest well Flora. Till we meet again.”
