Mzuzu police have arrested a Chinese who is suspected to have misappropriated over K26 million belonging to his boss.
The suspect, Maging Wei, 31, who works for King Lion, a shop that sells motorcycles in Mzuzu, is suspected to have misappropriated the money.
Mzuzu Police spokesperson, Paul Tembo, confirmed the development.
“We have the suspect in our custody but we are still investigating the issue and details will be made available when are done,” he said.
The suspect will appear in court to answer charges of theft by servant.
The Faceofmalawi has gathered that the owner of the shop, Yen Yan observed huge losses after inspecting his shop in Mzuzu.
After assessing his property, Yan discovered a shortage of over K26 million and filed a complaint with Mzuzu Police Station whose officers arrested the suspect.
