The Local Government and Rural Development Minister Ben Phiri held a meeting on Monday with World Bank Public Sector Specialist Mr. Michael Roscitt where discussions centered on measures of how to curb corruption.
In a meeting Roscitt assured the Minister of the World Banks unwavering support in making sure there are strong supporting systems at local government level.
Phiri commended the World Bank for the confidence they have in Peter Mutharika and his administration.
Since his appointment as Minister, Phiri has been running up and down in the district councils warning top officials to desist from corruption mal-practices.
