Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has transferred Director of Finance in local councils.
The communication of the changes has been made through an internal memo which was signed be the minister responsible Ben Phiri.
Phiri has however, asked all Cabinet Ministers and District Commissioners to observe the changes.
According to Phiri, government has reached to that decision as a way of improving efficiency in local councils.
He alleged that some key personnel in most local councils had stayed for a long time at a single duty station, a thing which he says was providing a breeding ground for corruption.
But despite setting September 13 as deadline for all Directors of Finance to move to their new duty stations, Faceofmalawi has discovered that there are some who are not willing to move from their current duty stations.
