Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) Vice President Precious Chisi has resigned from the party and joined the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Chisi announced the defection to DPP during a a rally addressed by Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Symon Vuwa-Kaunda and DPP regional governor for the North Kenneth Sanga at Kaluweya Primary School in Traditional Authority (T/A) M’mbelwa in Mzimba on Sunday.

He said he has dumped AFORD because the party has lost direction.

“I am done with Aford and I am now with DPP. It is clear that for a young politician like me, I can grow better in politics with DPP because it has good and realistic development agenda. I am confident that now I will contribute to the development of this country,” said Chisi.

Chisi was welcomed by Vuwa Kaunda.

Meanwhile AFORD is yet to comment on Chisi’ defection to DPP.
