Ntcheu police on Friday September 20 arrested a group of five criminal who were terrorizing the district.

According to Sergeant Rebecca Kwisongole, Deputy Spokesperson for Ntcheu police said that the suspects, all ex-convicts, were operating a gang group known as B13 Al – Shabab and were disguising themselves as Criminal Investigation Officers during their operations.

“From January this year, there has been a spate of burglary and robberies in the district. On Friday our Officers acted on a tip to arrest one person and later arrested the five suspects in the process,” she said.

Kwisongole said police recovered various properties from the suspects which include assorted electronic gadgets and three motor cycles among others.

All the suspects have been charged with breaking offences and will appear in court soon, according to police.
