Analyst Makhumbo Munthali has suggested that Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice president and Regional governor for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa and Charles Mchacha be investigated on the assault of activist Billy Mayaya and disruption of Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) demonstrations.
Munthali wrote this on his Facebook page commenting on the fracas that happened yesterday during Anti-Ansah demonstrations.
“Let Nankhumwa and Mchacha be investigated on activist Mayaya assault and disruption of HRDC demonstration,” writes Munthali.
According to Munthali the DPP cadets were clearly systematic and organized by those in high “echelons of the DPP in the Southern region”
Munthali continued that if his allegations are wrong Nankhumwa and Mchacha should come in the open and clear the names.
“Let them clear their names (and those of the party leadership) in this ordeal,” challenged Munthali.
Added Munthali; “You don’t need to be a prophet or a security expert to see a political endorsement to these barbaric acts from the enemies of democracy”
Yesterday DPP cadets disrupted the peaceful match of HRDC on their way to present their petition at Mount Soche Hotel where EFC-SADC meeting is taking place in a quest to force Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane ansah to step down.
