A well-known political commentator Rafiq Hajat has said the fracas that was cause by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets during Anti-Ansah demonstrations was engineered.
Hajat writing on his wall said the whole scenario was deliberately planned as a way of prohibit the demonstrators from delivering their petition to the ECF-SADC conference taking place at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.
“I think it was deliberately engineered to stop the petition from being delivered to the SADC EC Forum,” writes Hajat.
Hajat Continued saying the violence could have been prevented if DPP cadets were stopped from disrupting peaceful demonstrations.
“This chaos could’ve easily been averted if the DPP thugs had been prevented from disrupting a peaceful demonstration.” He said.
DPP cadets yesterday disrupted a peaceful match organized by human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) in a quest to force Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah out of office for allegedly mismanaging May 21 elections.
