Tension has ensued in Kasungu as bicycle operators are demonstrating against city authorities’ decision of paying tax of K1000 fee per day.

According to information available at Face of Malawi the council confiscated some bicycles yesterday with the intention of forcing bicycle operators to start paying city fees.

This did not go well with the operators and resorted to conducting demonstrations

The bicycle operators are in running battles with police who are firing teargases right now.
