United Transformation Movement (UTM) Vice President Michael visited member of the Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Billy Mayaya at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre.
Usi was accompanied by UTM’s patron Noel Masangwi and some party top officials.
Mayaya was assaulted by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets at Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds on Wednesday during the anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations.
The DPP hacked Mayaya in the head in full view of the heavily armed police officers who were also busy firing teargas at protesters.
HRDC held demonstrations with an aim of forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah to resign for failing to manage the May 21 tripartite election.
But the demonstrations were called-off due to security concerns.
Meanwhile HRDC has vowed to continue with the demonstration until Jane Ansah resigns.
