The religious body Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has planned to meet President Peter Mutharika after a round table discussion with Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah.
On Monday PAC courted Ansah for the fist time since the political impasse as part of dialogue efforts aiming at solving the current political impasse that followed aftermath of May 21 polls.
Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) and opposition parties are calling for the resignation of Ansah as MEC chair for allegedly mismanaging the polls.
Despite the calls, Ansah has remained adamant saying she cannot resign as the matter involving the presidential case is in court citing that it is only the judges of the constitutional court who can define her stand.
On the other hand Mutharika, told British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reporter that he cannot fire Ansah.
