Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Wednesday led thousands of Malawians in paying last respect to the departed party loyalist Stella Chauwa.

Chauwa, popularly known Lissa Ashley Mcnilly on social media was killed in road accident in Mzimba along with her two Children.

Chakwera was accompanied by Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara , Leader of MCP in Parliament Lobin Lowe and some other top officials.

Writing on his official facebook Chakwera expressed shock over Chauwa’s death.

“When young people who love our party and country are gone unexpectedly, it leaves all of us blank. Lissa was a fighter who together with others were drawn on one thing, to see a better Malawi. May her soul rest in peace,” wrote Chakwera.

Mzimba district police spokesperson Sub-Inspector Peter Botha said Chauwa lost control of her vehicle a Mazda saloon registration number LL 8344 and collided with a Ford Everest Station wagon.

Chauwa and Michelle Kalonga died on the spot while Mbumba Kalonga died at Mzimba district hospital.
