The Constitutional Court has this morning ordered that MCP witness Richard Chapweteka be summoned again to court for cross-examination by lawyers of President Mutharika.

The court has, however, said this will need to be at a time of choosing of the court and duration of its discretion.

The court has further ordered that the application by lawyers of MCP President Lazarus Chakwera, for the amendment of four sworn-statements, be allowed for the benefit of the court.

The changes, save for one, include insertion of documents forgotten and amendments to terminology and words used in some sworn-statements of a number of MCR witnesses.

Justice Redson Kapindu said the duty of the court is to resolve the substantive issues between it and not punish complainants for making mistakes in the preparation of their cases.
