At least 12 people have been arrested in connection with the death of a police officer who was killed yesterday by angry mob in Nsundwe.

The deceased identified as Usumani Imedi, a superintendent was stationed at C-Company in Lilongwe

More arrests are expected to be made, in relation to the murder of a police officer during riots at Nsundwe in Lilongwe yesterday.

National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera said that they are closely monitoring the situation at Nsundwe.

According to Kadadzera, more arrested are expected to erupt in connection with yesterday’s incident.

Yesterday there were running battles between the police and locals who were against President Peter Mutharika’s plans to hold a rally in Lilongwe.

According to the locals, they do not recognize Mutharika as his victory came with te help of correctional fluid called Tipp-Ex hence calling him “Tipp-Ex President”
