Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) leaders visited suspects who were arrested after Nsundwe fracas which resulted into the death of a police at Lilongwe Police Station.

HRDC chairperson and Vice Timothy Mtambo and Gift Trapence were spotted at the police station.

According to HRDC Vice chairman, Gift Trapence, the number of suspects arrested in the Nsundwe incident has risen to 41.

On October 8, there running battles between the police and locals who were not pleased with President Peter Mutharika’s plan to hold a rally in the district.

Police rushed to the scene to keep calm and older where Superintendent Usumani Imedi met his fate as the angry mob stoned him to death.
