A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Gender Coordination Network is today expected to hold a march against the Msundwe sexual violence scandal which implicates police officers.

On October 8, locals in Msundwe held protest against President Peter Mutharika’s plan to hold a rally in the area which is believed to be opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) stronghold, which resulted into the death of a police who was stoned to death.

Some police officers assigned to restore peace in the area are believed to have sexually abused women and girls on October 8.

The Women Lawyers Association are also expected to be part of the march, and has promised to provide free legal services to the affected women.
