Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has reduced load shedding hours from 6 hours to 5 hours a day.
ESCOM spokesperson Innocent Chitosi confirmed the changes.
This follows the completion of maintenance works of machines at Kapichira and Tedzani power stations by the Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO).
Currently, the capacity available at Kapichira is at 129 megawatts while Tedzani 3 is at 31 megawatts.
ESCOM Public Relations Manager Innocent Chitosi tells Capital FM that power generation capacity has improved.
