KENYA -A 15-year-old form one student has allegedly been defiled by her teacher after she approached him to report the school’s assistant headmaster for sexually harassing her.

The unfortunate incident, according to the police happened on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Ndutumi Boarding Secondary School in Kahuro, Murang’a County, Kenya.

Both the teacher and the assistant headmaster have been charged with sexual harassment and defilement respectively.

Assistant headteacher, Samuel Ndung’u Ikonya, seduced the minor, on October 19 in his office and tried to have sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old.

The following day, October 20, the girl looked for her class teacher, Kevin Kung’u Ngunjiri, in one of the Science laboratories so that she could report what the deputy principal had subjected her to.

Ngunjiri allegedly touched the girl’s private parts inappropriately and, thereafter, defiled her.

Both suspects, who were arrested on Monday, October 21, denied the respective charges and asked the court to free them on cash bail or bond terms.

The prosecution, however, opposed the release of the two, saying they would interfere with evidence.

Chief Magistrate Margaret Wachira requested the case be transferred to another court in Murang’a, and the bail application be heard on October 28.
