This is as a results of the just ended three days national wide strike by truck drivers who were demanding a salary hike of not less than Mk300,000.
The government of Malawi through Ministry of Transport and Public Works on Wednesday moved in and adjusted the minimum wage of truck drivers to Mk100, 000 from MK35, 000.
On Monday this week, the truck drivers embarked on national wide strike aiming at forcing the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government to adjust their salaries with not less than MK300, 000 to be at par with their colleagues in the SADC region.
Meanwhile the truck drivers have called off the strike.
