Blantyre residents are today expected to be subjected to a full day without water following maintenance works that are scheduled to be carried out at walkers Ferry pumping station.

This follows an announcement by the Blantyre Water Board.

A statement from the board indicates that the station’s machines and the Chileka pumping engine will be at complete shutdown.

This follows emergency repairs along the transmission pipeline that have risen due to vandalism of the board’s equipment.
