South African dancer and socialite Zodwa Wabantu famed for proposing to her now ex-boyfriend a few months ago recently opened up on why she prefers dating younger men.

In an Instagram video posted on her page, Zodwa explained she prefers men with ambition, which she says young men have.

“I think I have to explain the Ben 10 or the young boyfriend thing with Zodwa Wabantu. They are young, adventurous, outgoing, ambitious; they have their dreams ahead of them. So when it comes to me, I have already lived my life,” said Zodwa.

Proposal

Close to five months ago, Zodwa stirred up the internet when she went down on one knee and asked her then boyfriend Ntobeko Linda, to marry her.

The controversial South African dancer did not only go against the odds but made sure she bought a statement ring priced at Sh428, 397 for her man.

“Mine, queen. I bought it myself, marry yourself girl. Custom made princess style 9ct Rose Gold Morganite. Mine, my ring,” she posted.

Zodwa advised hardworking women to marry themselves by giving their men money to pay dowry for them.

“We as women we give our men money to marry us. Hard working women hide that they marry themselves by giving their boyfriends money to go to their families to pay Lobola,” said Zodwa.

Break-up

Their romance was however short lived after the 33-year-old dumped her young fiancé saying she was tired of the relationship.

Breaking the news to her Instagram family, Zodwa explained that she was losing herself and needed her spark back.

“I’m losing myself. I need my spark back. I’m not happy anymore. Free Ntobeko he’s still growing. No wedding,” she wrote.

The dancer was later quoted saying, “I’m just tired of the relationship. I’m hurt so I’m taking time off from him. Not from the relationship or the wedding. So, it’s just a break.”

Buying own coffin

Sometime last year, Zodwa was all over the internet after she went casket shopping just in case she dies and her family is not able to raise funds to buy one.

“Death. Black society is scared to talk about death. My coffin is 150k. Are you ready or your family is still gonna run around? I don’t want Zodwa Wabantu was famous now there’s no money to bury her,” she said.
