State Vice President Honourable Everton Helbert Chimulirenji will visit Blantyre Market which was gutted by fire on Tuesday night.

This has been disclosed in a press statement from the office of the Vice President signed by Charles Wahara made available to Faceofmalawi reporter.

According to the statement, Chimulirenji will inspect the market and later meet with vendors affected by the inferno.

Chimulirenji is expected to arrive at the market at round 12 noon.

The fire which started around 11pm consumed goods worth millions rendering vendors with hopeless as most of their merchandise was consumed by the inferno.

Some of the goods lost to the inferno include; Water melons, spices, Tomatoes, Onions, legumes, shoes, cosmetics, clothes and others.

The fire mainly affected the section where Irish potatoes and other merchandise are sold.

Meanwhile the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
