Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter has unveiled Mtolankhani house in Lilongwe last evening.

MISA Malawi chairperson Teresa Ndanga started the initiative when she vied for office two years ago.

In her remarks Ndanga said Mtolankhani house shall be a shelter for journalists and a center of journalism excellence.

This will mean that journalists in Malawi now have a permanent place to call home.

For 18 years, Misa Malawi had been operating from rented premises and guest of honour Agriculture minister Kondwani Nankhumwa observed that the initiative is a cost-effective measure.
