President Peter Mutharika has appealed to the top officials within the blue camp, to be united.

Mutharika has also given a hinted of leadership wrangles within the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)

Speaking when he arrived in Blantyre from Lilongwe yesterday, Mutharika appealed for unity within the party.

He stressed that those wishing to lead the party should wait for a year closer to 2024 to get the position through a convention.

He told a crowd comprising top party officials and supporters that they should accept that he is the leader until the next convention.
