Police in Kenya are holding a middle-aged mechanic who stormed Police Station in the country’s capital Nairobi demanding immediate arrest after killing his wife.
Bernard Odiwuor Oyolo is detained at Huruma police station where he rushed on November 2 after strangling his wife Lelila Anyango Okoth to death and demanded to be placed in custody.
Corporal Isaac Kiplangat on Monday told Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga that police officers proceeded to Oyolo’s house where they found his wife’s body lying on bed.
The body was moved to Mortuary for postmortem.
Kiplangat was pleading for 14 days custodial orders to conclude investigations into the murder.
He said he needs to obtain Oyolo’s psychiatrist report and record witness statements.
Detective said Oyolo has not recorded his statement and is likely to interfere with investigations if released.
He will be presented before court after 14 days.
