Speaking to Global Publishers, Malkiz disclosed that she felt compelled by the Holy Spirit when she visited church for the first time.

“Nilipokuja uku baada ya maombi kuna vitu nilivisikia. Kuna ile energy, ile power niliskia ndani yangu. Nilisikia Kabisa nikajua this is real, kuna kitu kinaingia ndani yangu na kuna uzito unaotoka ndani ya mwili wangu,” she narrated.

Malkiz, who has always been open about her sexual orientation, stated that after her first encounter with the Holy Spirit in Church, she is at peace with herself despite loosing friends in the process.

“I feel so good, I feel very powerful. Naona kuna mwelekeo katika maisha yangu, kuna vitu vingi vina badilika. Ata marafiki wale ambao hawana faida naona Mungu anawasambaratisha na mimi. Najua kabisa hii ni the right place kwangu. Napata amani,” she explained.

Explaining that she used to run to alcohol and drugs whenever she was stressed out, Malkiz said that she has now found a new place to pour her heart out.

When asked about how her family felt about her conversion, she was quick to point out that they might not be in agreement with her new faith but they are glad that she has changed and she is worshiping God.

They should just understand that mtoto wao at least nimeacha kurandaranda na nimeamua kutulia kwa Mungu,” she said.
