The scheduled meeting between president Peter Mutharika and the quasi-religious body Public Affairs Committee is seemingly not to have a brighter future as the date for the said meeting has not been set.
The religious body has been holding meetings with various stakeholders with an aim of finding solutions to the political impasse that has engulfed the country aftermath of May 21 elections.
Earlier, PAC engaged Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Jane Ansah who is the center of interest as various people and stakeholders are calling for her resignation fro allegedly mismanaging the polls.
Confirming the said meeting with Mutharika, presidential spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani recalled to have received the letter from PAC seeking for a round table with the head of state.
“We have finally fetched the letter from them (PAC) last Thursday and we sent it to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) for further processing. Should there be progress on the letter, you shall be informed accordingly,” Kalirani said.
