Mchinji District Health Office is assuring community members in the district of its preparedness in case of a cholera outbreak during the rainy season.

Mchinji district health spokesperson Owen Chatayika confirmed the development adding that management in all health facilities in the district have been ordered to find places to build quarantine makeshift wards to accommodate cholera patients in case of a possible outbreak.

He adds that cholera medication is available in all health centers.

According to Chatayika, the Mchinji district health office has already conducted sensitizations on cholera prevention, targeting community members.
