Lawyer representing the first respondent in the on-going historical presidential elections case Samuel Tembenu has conceded that there were irregularities in the May 21 tripartite elections.

However, Tembenu rushed to make his point clear that the irregularities happened during the elections were few hence not strong enough to affect the presidential results.

According to Tembenu, they are ready to show United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Saulos Chilima and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Lazarus Chakwera that there were no election irregularities to warrant a rerun as the two are praying for at the Constitutional Court.

Tembenu Continued that his side will show the court that their candidate, Peter Mutharika had the same right and no preferential advantage before and during the elections.

Meanwhile, Judge Ivy Kamanga has adjourned the case as to tomorrow as Ben Phiri a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will be cross examined.
