Human Right Defence Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson Timothy Mtambo on Thursday night escaped unhurt from what many suspect as planned accident by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in area 49 in the capital Lilongwe.

The planned accident came barely days after Timothy Mtambo and his deputy Gift Trapence returned from Gambia where they went for official duties.

According to information at hand, a Nissan Note CK 5141 collided with Mtambo’s vehicle.

Mtambo confirmed of the accident saying the thugs wanted to eliminate his life for announcing new wave of anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations in the country.

In August, unknown thugs invade and petrol-bombed Mtambo’s house in the capital Lilongwe with an aim of killing him but he survived.

Last month unknown thugs fired six gun shots at his vehicle and he escaped unhurt.
