The services started at 8 am and culminated at 11 am when the routine church services commenced and was also hosted on the following Friday from 7pm.

Speaking to Sunday World on Friday, Mboro said the drought and people’s pleas for him to pray for the rainfall had motivated him to ask for divine intervention.

“I was invited to a rain-prayer session in Qwa Qwa [Free State] by pastor Tebogo Mofokeng on Wednesday, where we teamed up with local witchdoctors and prayed for the rain. So I must do the same here at home,” he said.

Mboro also said Mofokeng of Mountain Deliverance Prophetic Ministries had invited him to their next prayer session on November 29 at Maluti-a-phofung Multipurpose Centre in Phuthaditjhaba.

Mofokeng confirmed he had invited Mboro to their prayer session.

He said the water levels of their local dams had dropped because of a lack of rainfall and a heatwave and this posed serious economic threats in their local agricultural sector.

“Remember that agriculture contributes significantly to the economic growth of the country and if crops or animals die as a result of drought … then jobs in the sector will be adversely affected, so we need rain, we are in dire straits,” he told Sunday World.
