Chikulamayembe Chieftaincy wrangle ruling today

The High Court in Mzuzu is this afternoon expected to deliver its determination on the Chikulamayembe’s chieftaincy wrangle.
The court will determine the legitimacy of Mtima Walter Gondwe as Paramount Chikulamayembe following an order that the camp of Joseph Bongololo Gondwe obtained against Walter Gondwe.
The camp of Joseph Bongololo Gondwe through their lawyer Michael Goba Chipeta solicited two injunctions stopping Walter Gondwe from operating as paramount chief and conducting Gonapamuhanya celebrations.
The two camps have been involved in violent acts which led to the torching of Tumbuka’s headquarters offices in Bolero, Rumphi.
